K9 Griffin vom Wundersee
Police & SWAT K9
At just over a year old, Griffin went to Colorado Springs to begin training with Randy Johnson. After completing his initial certification, Griffin was placed with his law-enforcement partner at the Liberal Police Department in Kansas, where he continued his training and became fully certified.
Griffin went on to serve as a police K9 and SWAT dog, building a career that reflected the intelligence, courage, strength, and level-headed temperament his trainers valued so highly. Over eight years of service, he distinguished himself by completing 417 deployments, seven successful apprehensions, and 17 successful tracks.
A son of V Halo Haus Juris, Griffin’s career showed a very different side of the Wundersee legacy — not through breeding or the show ring, but through real working ability and service to his community.
K9 Levi vom Wundersee
DC Fire and EMS Crisis Response K9
Levi, another son of V Halo Haus Juris, found a very special calling with the DC Fire and EMS Peer Support Team. Working alongside his handler, EMS Captain Sharon Moulton, he provided a calm, reassuring presence for firefighters and EMS members following difficult calls, during personal crises, and in moments when words simply were not enough.
His work went far beyond companionship. Levi had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, helping break down barriers and giving first responders a quiet place to decompress, reconnect, and sometimes begin conversations they might otherwise have struggled to start.
Levi helped pave the way for this important mission within DC Fire and EMS, touching countless lives throughout his years of service. Although his watch has ended, the comfort and compassion he brought to the department remain part of his special legacy.
K9 Brew vom Wundersee
Continuing the Mission
Brew followed in his Uncle Levi’s footsteps, joining the DC Fire and EMS Peer Support Team as a Crisis Response K9 and continuing the work Levi helped establish. From a young age, Brew showed the temperament, confidence, and ability to connect with people that made him especially suited for this role.
Brew and Sharon’s work has taken them into firehouses, training events, peer-support programs, and some of the most difficult moments faced by first responders. Brew was among those providing support following the January 29, 2025 Potomac mid-air collision and was later recognized with a Certificate of Commendation for his service and dedication during the rescue and recovery operations.
From Levi to Brew, their work represents a very different kind of Wundersee legacy — one built not in the show ring, but through service, compassion, and the ability of a German Shepherd to reach people when they need it most.
