Honoring the German Shepherds who helped shape generations of Wundersee dogs.

The Beginning of a Legacy

Wundersee’s story grew from a long friendship and breeding partnership with Megan Judge of Haus Juris. While working together to preserve a famous bloodline from one of our females, Eliza vom Kuckucksland came into our lives. Megan had acquired Eliza from her breeder Otmar Grünewald of Kuckucksland Kennel in Germany, she eventually came home with us.

Eliza would go on to become the foundation female of Wundersee German Shepherds and begin a legacy that continues in our dogs as well as friendships with Otmar and Eva Grünewald and Bernhard Prem.

Foundation Female of Wundersee German Shepherds

Eliza became the foundation female for Wundersee German Shepherds. Her exceptional breed type, temperament, and quality established the foundation upon which our breeding program was built. Her influence continues through generations of Wundersee dogs and the accomplished descendants that followed her.

A Legacy of Excellence

VA3 Gigi Haus Juris SchH2, KKL (Lbz)

From Puppy to VA

Gigi came to Wundersee as a puppy from our longtime friend Megan Judge of Haus Juris. She grew into an exceptional female and was later trained and titled with the help of Bernhard Prem. In 2011, Gigi achieved VA3 and High American Bred Female at the North Americal Sieger Show becoming the second VA-rated dog of Wundersee and the first VA bred by Haus Juris. At approximately two years and three months old, she was one of the youngest females to achieve a VA rating in North America.

Gigi later became an important part of our breeding program. Bred to VA3 mRazz Haus Juris, Eliza’s son, she produced V Jadyn Haus Juris - continuing the influence of our VA lines into the next generation.

VA3 mRazz Haus Juris SchH3, FH, KKL (Lbz)

Bred, Raised, Trained & Handled at Wundersee

mRazz was bred and raised at Wundersee, a son of VA1 Eliza vom Kuckucksland. From puppyhood through his working titles and show carrier, Razz was owner-trained and handled at Wundersee, earning all his working titles with me.

In 2015, Razz achieved VA3 at the North American Sieger Show, becoming the third VA-rated German Shepherd of Wundersee. His success represented another generation of Eliza’s influence and the continuation of the breeding program she helped establish.

Razz’s accomplishments were especially unusual for a VA-rated show-line German Shepherd. In addition to achieving VA3, he earned his FH tracking title- a combination rarely seen among VA dogs and one that had not been seen for many years. For me, that achievement was even more meaningful because I bred and raised Razz and personally trained and titled him through SchH3 and FH.. Taking my homebred dog to VA3 while also earning SchH3 and FH with him remains one of the proudest accomplishments of my life with German Shepherds.

Razz would also leave his mark on the next generation as the sire of VA Utah Haus Juris, carrying the Wundersee legacy forward once again.

VA Utah Haus Juris IGP3, KKL (Lbz)

The Next Generation of the Wundersee Legacy

Utah came to Wundersee as a puppy from our longtime friend Megan Judge of Haus Juris. Sired by our VA3 mRazz Haus Juris, Utah brought Razz’s influence into the next generation and became a very special continuation of the bloodline that began with Eliza.

I raised Utah from puppyhood before he went to Bernhard Prem for training, where he earned his IGP1, IGP2 and breed survey. Utah then returned home to mature, with plans for him to return to Germany to compete at the German Sieger Show. Those plans were interrupted by the COVID pandemic, and Utah remained at Wundersee. I continued his training and personally earned his IGP3 with him.

In 2022, Utah achieved his VA rating at the North American Sieger Show, becoming the fourth VA-rated German Shepherd of Wundersee. His achievement was especially meaningful as a son of Razz, carrying the legacy from Eliza through to another generation.

V Halo Haus Juris IPO2, KKL (Lbz)

An important Part of the Wundersee Legacy

Halo holds a special place in Wundersee history as the only one of our dogs, so far, to compete at the German Sieger Show. In 2012, she was shown at the Bundessieger-Zuchtschau in Ulm, Germany. A daughter of VA1 Eliza vom Kuckucksland, she carried Eliza’s influence into another generation and earned her IPO2, breed survey, and V show rating.

Halo’s greatest contribution to Wundersee came through her offspring. She produced Lieda, Levi, Griffin, Kamb, Kougar and others who went on to represent the versatility, temerparment, and working abilty we value in our dogs. Through them, Halo became an important bridge between the foundation established by Eliza and the generations that followed.

Temperament, Motherhood & Lasting Influence

Lieda inherited the wonderful temperament we value so highly at Wundersee and became an exceptional mother and producer. A daughter of Halo Haus Juris and 6x VA Liedo vom Kuckucksland SchH3, KKL (Lbz), she carried forward an expecially important combination of bloodlines. Liedo was also one of the reasons we first went to Megan Judge of Haus Juris, making Lieda’s place in our history even more meaningful. She was truly special in her character.

Lieda’s greatest legacy can be seen in the generations that followed her. She produced Talon, Valla, Willow, and Xena vom Wundersee, helping establish many of the dogs that remain part of our breeding program today. Her outstanding temperament, maternal qualities, and ability to consistently produce the characteristics we value have made her invaluable to the Wundersee Legacy.

Personality, Ability & a Special Combination

Jadyn was especially meaningful as the daughter of two very special Wundersee dogs, VA mRazz Haus Juris and VA Gigi Haus Juris. That combination alone made her a treasured part of the program, carrying forward the qualities and bloodlines of two dogs who had already left an important mark on Wundersee.

Jadyn was also simply a wonderful dog to work with. She had tremendous personality, natural ability, and the kind of presence that made training with her especially enjoyable. She combined character and working ability in a way that made her memorable both in training and at home.
